Hey all! Just a quick post to let you know that we've changed the weekly Daily Puzzle cadence so that Sunday (rather than Saturday) will be see the most difficult puzzle of the week.

Your work/school-week will enjoy a gentle start on Monday, with the easiest puzzle of the week!

We've changed the calendar controls a bit and added a new label to let new players know about the increasing difficulty...

Happy daily puzzling!

I like! See how far you can get through the week :-)

@OP: The reason for the change is unexplained. I see it as pointless. Why disrupt years of consistency?

Making Sunday the easiest puzzle day has made sense for years. Making is the most difficult instead is strange. It feels random. Weeks start on Sunday, not Monday, so in reality, the puzzles get harder not through, but beyond the week.

You might as well make Wednesday the day of the most difficult and Thursday the easiest.

@Whirlwind, Sunday is only the first day of the week in America and Canada. The international standard is Monday, it makes perfect sense to make this change, chess.com is not just for Americans and Canadians.

@gershiscool - Monday is the first day of the week according to the international standard ISO 8601, but Sunday is considered the  first day of the week in the USA, Canada and Japan.

Traditionally, Sunday is the first day of the week in the United Kingdom. This might come as a surprise to a great number of Brits who think of Monday as the first day of the week (because Monday is the first day of the working week), and I'm not sure what modern British law has to say about it,  but I was always taught that Sunday was the first day of the week (even though it obviously isn't). Of course, that was a long time ago, when a billion was a proper billion...
