New Features & Fixes - May 26 2009

Looks great. Also, favicons don't work for me either, on the latest Firefox.

I have to tell ya'...that central column on the Homepage where you list Articles, Forum Posts, News, and Blogs isn't wide enough for a lot of the titles, so I can't tell in some cases what the topics are.  Is there any way you can narrow the block to the left to make the center larger?  And can you bring back the names of the posters?  I like to read certain posters and it's convenient to see them on the homepage.

Because now I'm reading titles like:

US Champs and a Tribute to B...

Your Questions Answered by A...

I really would like to know who "A" and "B" are before I click on the title.

It only work with one's own theme. I can't view yours or anyone else's. They all show up as my own.

Yeah, I'm just seeing my own as well.  Good trick, though.  :)

I generally like the new look, but Q has a good point here.  The three things that make go 'hmm' a bit about the new design:

- Amy's point about the number of characters in the middle section

- The unlikely marriage of video and forum content in one section

- The "Chess w/ Friends" button caption.  "w/"?  Also, these people aren't my friends!  ;-)  Why not just "Play Chess"?

But all in all, a huge improvement cosmetically.  :)

i really like and appreciate the various changes and the site in general....i think Erik should get a "MacArthur" award, often called the "genius award"  but sadly the committee that makes the nominations is secret.....just thinking outloud here......
