Using the abort button after you have made one move effectively resigns the game.

I recently started playing on my Kindle Fire and I noticed that there is no option to resign. In place of where the resign button should be it is an 'abort' button. Sometimes after reloading the page it will turn to resign but not always.
Why is this? It gets annoying for me (and I'm sure for my opponents) when I can't resign and force a slow drawn out endgame.
Is it a glitch or is there a known way to fix it?
