I feel so silly to look to databases for that position. How can I forget such an easy theory is beyond my belief.

You make a strong case, Alpenschach. And the fact that you enjoy what you do is a bit of a knock out argument.  But I shan't be taking up database chess.

Well, to each his own really... It's totally different kinds of chess and both are great for different reasons.

Not saying that I won't ever play a game without a database either.

If anybody here is ever paired against me and would prefer me not to use a DB in our game, s/he just needs to tell me so in the game chat and I will refrain from using it in that particular game (assuming that s/he agrees not to use one either).

How do I use a database? I've googled but I haven't gotten anything that seems like a database. Thanks!

These posts are never logical. What's the problem in using something that is available (and legal to use) for both players?

In fact one could make a strong argument that database use helps the lower rated player, because they can choose solid lines in the opening where playing on their own they might be lost by move 4.

Thank you!
