Playing an op only ONCE!

I can't stand that most people on here will only play you once. One game doesn't decide who is better. Will people please start playing best 2/3 at the very least!!

Any thoughts?

Three games doesn't decide who's better either, does it?

There's always another game waiting for you regardless if you get the rematch on not. Play the game.

My thoughts.

I used to always jump into rematch mode straight after a game... its not good...

1 If you play too much like this your level will drop significantly, chess is intense, your brain needs at least a little break in between games, or it will become mush (the weird thing is its hard to notice this is happening but it does)

2 its good to analyse and learn from your mistakes while the game is still fresh in your mind.

3 usually just after a game your too emotional.. you need to calm down a bit before the next one, usually people dont play well when emotional. If you just lost you will try desparetly, if you won, you lack some motivation... for both its better to take a little break first.

Offering rematches is fine, accepting them or not accepting them is fine too. We're all here to play chess, and there are plenty opponents.

Ya OP, you also need to consider that some people dont want to sit around for hours playing chess, and that one 15/10, 5/1 or w/e is the length of time they want to play for.

If you really want some marathon sessions with someone similiar in skill to you, create a thread and find someone that way.

I agree. Didn't think of it that way. Thanks for the comments.
