Playing rated games against live bots

I have just recently discovered that you can play rated games against chess.com's live bots. I was a low 1200 2 days ago, but some 10min games against the live bots have now brought me to 1500... A part of me doesn't think it is fair to increase my ratings this way, but then again the bots' ratings come from real players. I do feel very stressed against real players, something I don't experience at all against bots. I now feel comfortable spending a long time on one move. Is it okay that I keep doing this?

There was a case a while back where someone played like a thousand games or something against a low rated bot to incrementally raise his rating.  They told him to stop already...

Pretty sure though that if you use common sense and play reasonably rated bots, it's fine.  Of course eventually you need to figure out why playing against fellow humans is so stressful.  I'm often wrong...

I've been playing extensively against Joel-bot, which is rated 1500-1600, but you do think that stress is the real issue here? It definitely does play a factor, but a difference of 300elo is a little too much for my liking... I do enjoy playing bots MUCH more against humans (except when against my friends)... not sure why

I think we're all like that to a certain extent.  It's all well and good to say "it's just a game", but we all have egos.

At one point, rated play against bots was removed, partially to battle that. Not sure if it came back due to demand or what.

Yes, I agree that playing lower rated boys to up ratings not so good but playing bots at my human level was helpful because, although they try to put the blunder level at the human level, the bots jump all over blunders, which helped a lot.  It seems to be all about blundering at lower level chess.

I've noticed a friend has games against coach mae in their game history, suggesting rated games against computers /bots is still possible, but I can't see the option via android, only rated games against randoms or friends.

As my game history appears to omit games v bots I'm a little confused as to what's occurring!

Games against the bots can be saved. On the website running a Game Review will do it or they can be manually saved. On the apps, you can manually save them.
