I can understand your feelings and maybe 960 chess will be the answer.
The trouble with your suggestion is that everybody has a data base in their brain which is constanly being re-enforced from games articles ect. Chess has a starting postion we are faced with ( perhaps monotinously) everytime we play; it must be the most viewed positon of the millions that are around.
We cannot help but analyse it just as we do each game we play.If you destroyed all the data bases within twenty years they would all be up and running again.
Perhaps like me you would like to turn back the clock of progress which does not seem to be improving the world. Fortunately I have only a limited time to watch lifes drama and then I must depart.
