Quick ways to move?

What are the ways that you can move more quickly when playing games on chess.com?  I sometimes see opponents move instantaneously after my move, clearly they entered their move before I did.  How do you do that?  Also, I've played on other sites (FICS), where you can just click on a square to move to that square, if there is only one piece that can move to that square.  Is there a way to do that on chess.com?

Its called PreMoves

Thanks.  I'll look into premoves.  That answers my first question.  What about my second question - is there an option where you can click on a square to move to that square, when there is only one piece that can move there?

IN your settings for playing live chess, there should be an option to either click on the square your piece is on, and then click on the square you want to move the piece to, or drag and drop.

There isn’t. chess.com doesn’t have smart moves.

Premoves helps with fast online chess; but another "fast technique" of online chess is called "hovering." The problem with premoves is that you WILL move the pre selected move, but if your opponent does something unexpected (like hanging a piece or something), the premove may not be best. Hovering is literally picking up a piece of yours (in your opponent's turn) and "hovering" it over a square manually (similar to premoves) with the mindset that if the opponent plays x, then I can drop the piece over the square (which only takes a few tenths of a second based on your reflexes), but has the advantage of not dropping it there if the opponent plays something unexpected.

The best bullet/blitz players utilize these techniques and others. This is just another difference with online versus OTB. There are no premoves or hovering in OTB games xD

Yep pre-moves pretty much just for recaptures, capturing with a pawn or flagging
