Ratings distribution over time in chess.com

Hi!

In the last year (maybe year and half) I've been noticing that my rating has been slowly and steadily going down (from ~1300 before to 1100-1200 now). I am not a very dedicated player (I don't study positions or follow lessons), I just play for fun and try to get naturally better on my own (please don't question my 'strategy' - it's not a strategy, it's just what it is).

I don't feel that I'm getting worse, but it is a fact that I struggle now more to beat someone with a 1200-1300 rating compared with one a half year ago.

So, I am curious why this happens. Have the distribution of ratings suffered some significant changes (e.g. many more players have joined during covid19) or is it just that I am actually worse and I don't notice it?
