just so you know, there is no such thing as a "chess.com" GM. we do pay some authors for their content and work, but we don't have players on payroll as representatives :/ the titled players on this site are just normal titled players who happen to frequent our site.
i wish that all performers and entertainers would appreciate their fans!
Erik, I have come to terms that everyone is not going to think like me. People are different and I guess that adds to the spice of life. And although there is no correlation between titled players and this site; isnt it fair to say the tiltled players here in some way represent the brand of chess.com?
Similar to when an athlete is endorsed to make an apperance or represent a product. Isnt the point to draw in more consumers, and generate more revenue, becasue people either can relate or want to be able to identify to the paid endorser?
This next part does not apply to them, but wouldnt Daniel Rensch, David Pruess, and others who frequently write and broadcast on this site be expected to act a certain way while on this site? I understand what people do on their own time is their business. However, many people (Tiger Woods, Mike Vick, Dell computer kid... and others) have lost sponsors becasue of how they were perceived in the publics eye. Wouldnt that apply here if one of them was convicted of a serious crime?
So there may be no such thing as a chess.com titled player, but you have to understand the confusion when they are plasterd all over the place. For example, the death match between two titled players, is hosted by more titled players (absolutely necessary by the way), and if you get tired of that you can go to the lobby and watch titled players play the current top game. And if that does not do it for you there are always articles and videos you can submerge yourself in which were put together by titled players.
Let me be clear and say that this is the best site on the internet. I have looked at a couple and none of them come close to having all of the things this site possess. I want to be clear that what I am saying is not in anyway a negative reflection of this site. I just expected more from a titled player who appears to be very outgoing on here. Apparently, I was at fault for making assumptions.
Again I appreciate everyones feedback even if they dont agree with me. I had no idea this topic was going to go this far.
