Special Chess.com TV Broadcast at 5 PM Pacific!!

   Hello chess fans! We are happy to announce that today on Chess.com TV, we have a special broadcast for ALL Members beginning at 5 PM Pacific/8 PM Eastern(GMT -8). GM Melik Khachiyan, will be making his Chess.com TV debut as he will be bringing us LIVE Final Round coverage of the Metropolitan FIDE Invitational, held at the Metropolitan Chess Club in downtown L.A.

   Here are the standings after 7 Rounds with thanks going out to our own IM David Pruess for this crosstable:

   The average rating of the field is 2334 FIDE, which makes it a Category 4 event. Players must score at least a 6.0/9 to earn an IM norm. Included in the field of players are 3 IMs: Enrico Sevillano, Timothy Taylor and Zhanibek Amanov of Kazakhstan. Most norm-seeking players are from the Los Angeles Vibe team in the US Chess League: Roman Yankovsky, Alexandre Kretchetov, Tatev Abrahamyan, Joel Banawa, Garush Manukyan, Konstantin Kavutskiy and Ankit Gupta.

   It is a 10 player SRR(Single Round Robin) event, and the first of its kind in L.A. for 5 years. It is sure to be a great end to a great tournament and what better way to watch it than on Chess.com TV.
