Is it quite right when defending against overwhelming odds  at the end of a game to be asked by your opponent “what’s the point” Have they never heard of stalemate? Or even sportsmanship

I think none is exempt of blunders or mistakes (of course while the highest the level of the player is, the lesser the probabilities of going wrong are)... so, stalemate could happen as mistake or miscalculation, for example. But even more deeply, sportsmanship should be present in every single game. Fighting hard until the last move is a real prove of this.

Finally, is up to the "weaker player" or the "in disadvantage player" to resign. But this does not mean the other player should "remember it for you". That is, clearly, a great prove of lack of sportsmanship.

I hope I made my point clear.

Greetings.
