Suggestion: Have openings explorer calculate performance ratings

I love the openings explorer on here. It is a useful tool especially for evaluating how I am doing in various openings. Although the win percentages it produces are helpful, what I would really like to see is my performance rating from various positions. The percentages can sometimes be misleading. Is this a doable add-on to chess.com or is it too much trouble?

Could you explain what you mean by performance rating in this context?

Sure, normally we think of a performance rating as something you can calculate for an individual player in a particular event. Basically you take the average rating of your opponents and calculate a rating based on your results against them.

You can do the same thing for a particular opening. For example, suppose you wanted to know how well you are doing with the caro-kann defense. You would average the rating of your opponents in all the games you played the black side of the caro-kann and calculate a performance rating based on your results against them.

This is better than a win/loss/draw percentage because it takes into account the strength of your opponents. For example, this would come in handy if you are comparing how you do in the caro-kann versus how you are doing in the sicilian. Suppose you play the sicilian against players who have a lower average rating. You would likely have a better win percentage with the sicilian than the caro-kann, but this would be misleading because you were playing the caro-kann against higher rated players. A performance rating would tell you which of the two openings you are playing better.
