I am well aware of the things you are talking about, and I am disappointed in the direction our country is moving in many ways. I do not hate this country. I do not despise its people. I do not resent the security provided by the brave members of our military forces.
If I did hate my country, if I was furious over paying taxes to a government that I considered evil, I'd like to believe that I'd have the moral fortitude to become the citizen of a country whose values were more aligned with my own.
You said that something as relatively minor as the US winning the World Cup would make you become ill. I'm perfectly happy if you stay or go, but face it girl, you and Uncle Sam have an unhealthy relationship!
Trysts, you express a hatred for America, its culture and most of its people that is greater than anything I've heard expressed by anyone about any country. This is not a "mood," you can't restrain yourself. This is your right.
I'm going to make a suggestion, and I'm not saying this to be mean or flippant. I'm not one of those "America, love it or leave it" types. Maybe you'd be happier living in another country. You're in Ann Arbor; why not check out Toronto? You could find a job there, maybe an ex - pat community that shares your views.
You value your freedom, and you are free to leave this country for one where you'll be happier.
I have no idea what the point of your remark is? I have stated reasons to hate what this country does to people around the world. Why would you think that leaving the country would make me happy? I would still hate what this country does to people around the world. Why wouldn't there be people in this country that have studied these things and came to the same conclusion? Who knows what you mean by: "This is not a "mood", you can't restrain yourself." Did you read what I wrote? Are you aware of just some of the horrible things this country is involved with? Because I express a moral sense about serious issues, I should move to another country? No, I have no idea what your point is...
