Trysts, you express a hatred for America, its culture and most of its people that is greater than anything I've heard expressed by anyone about any country. This is not a "mood," you can't restrain yourself. This is your right.

I'm going to make a suggestion, and I'm not saying this to be mean or flippant. I'm not one of those "America, love it or leave it" types. Maybe you'd be happier living in another country. You're in Ann Arbor; why not check out Toronto? You could find a job there, maybe an ex - pat community that shares your views.

You value your freedom, and you are free to leave this country for one where you'll be happier.

I have no idea what the point of your remark is? I have stated reasons to hate what this country does to people around the world. Why would you think that leaving the country would make me happy? I would still hate what this country does to people around the world. Why wouldn't there be people in this country that have studied these things and came to the same conclusion? Who knows what you mean by: "This is not a "mood", you can't restrain yourself." Did you read what I wrote? Are you aware of just some of the horrible things this country is involved with? Because I express a moral sense about serious issues, I should move to another country? No, I have no idea what your point is...

I am well aware of the things you are talking about, and I am disappointed in the direction our country is moving in many ways. I do not hate this country. I do not despise its people. I do not resent the security provided by the brave members of our military forces.

If I did hate my country, if I was furious over paying taxes to  a government that I considered evil, I'd like to believe that I'd have the moral fortitude to become the citizen of a country whose values were more aligned with my own.

You said that something as relatively minor as the US winning the World Cup would make you become ill. I'm perfectly happy if you stay or go, but face it girl, you and Uncle Sam have an unhealthy relationship!

There is no reason to hate this country in particular. People will do what they will when they are in power, as the U.S. is now. It is human nature. I think that whatever country you live in, remember that it is not a nation but a grouping of people, humans who are susceptible to greed, hatred and violence. United we can do great and terrible things.

Wow, you're disappointed in the direction it's going? How many more wars do you want before you're pissed at where it's at? The genuinely brave members of an imperialistic military force, speak out against these wars, go AWOL, are dishonorably discharged, or are court martialed for refusing to murder people across the ocean. The only "security" they are contributing to, is corporate security, while companies deplete the occupied lands invaded by the armed forces under the auspices of 'developement'.

As far as your statements about your "moral fortitude" and my "unhealthy relationship with..." I think people like you, that say they are aware of what I alluded to in prior posts, but don't have enough guts to do anything but recite the pledge of allegience are the continuous problem with this country. You don't learn anything, you just repeat like a parrot all the silly jingoism everyone hears on television. "You don't like the country, then leave." I think I'm going to stay in this country, and speak my mind.

I say, if you can tolerate what this country does to the peoples of other countries, then go there. Maybe you would learn something... Probably not.
