The Chess.Com Computer

I was curious about the consensus on how accurate the rating of the Chess.com computer seems to be.My experience is that, when you play a game at each different level, it seems to vary some what game to game, within the numerical value settings available. Ex. if you choose 1600, you get anything from 1600-1999.

Hence, the other quirky thing I notice is that, from game to game,(this could be me some what) is that sometimes, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the 1200 and 1600. Like, I could potentially play a game at the 1200 setting and it actually played like a 1599 elo and the next game I choose the 1600 setting, but the computer still plays at 1600 and no higher, for that game atleast. I also noticed this difference between 1600 and 2000+. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe have a better way to quantify the variables into words that make more sense?

I plan to do a more indepth study and then post the results. I welcome any input on this subject. The main reason I am engaging in this is because, I have been trying to use the computer as a training aid. I think it really good that it does vary its moves from game to game, even if you stick to the same opening. However, at times, I am hoping for a repetition of the book moves, to study them, to better help me learn the book opening, in a game setting. Iprefer this to just trying to just memorize notation and transpose it to a game setting. Can anyone else relate or have any helpful suggestions?
