The saga is over

For all of you that have been wringing your hands about my opponent who wouldn't resign, he resigned.
What I still don't understand is: he was 1841 on Dec 5 and when he resigned he was 1627. How does he profit from losing a bunch of games ro lower his rating?

He doesn't?

Now, I have a question for you: How does he turn into a bunny "from losing a bunch of games"?

beau_zeau

I guess it was a rhetorical question

Maybe he was upset with you for some reason, so he wanted to first lose all his other games so as to minimize the points you would receive from beating him?  Just a thought.  Or maybe, and I am too lazy to check this at the moment, he didn't want to be your best win and have his name posted on your wall as such, so getting his rating lower first would avoid this scenario that he considered unpleasant?  Or maybe just a coincidence.

I think youve got it vance917
