The Sportmanship of Players

Chess.com is supposed to be a friendly and enjoyable community. It is supposed to be a place to have fun. However, this is proven to be false. The number of players who have absolutely no sportmanship is ridiculous. First of all, there are players that constantly insult you if you win. For example, when beating a player, they decide to call you rude names, insult your profile picture, comment on how bad you play, and talk about how you should not play chess. I have actually been called names like a dog, ape, etc. Secondly, there are players who make you wait. When losing, the player suddenly disconnects and forces you to wait a certain amount of time. Lastly, there are players who cheat. These players use programs to assist them in winning. This is one thing I don't understand... What is the point of using an engine? For a high rating that you didn't earn? Sure there is the block list and disabled chat, but I wish that I didn't have to use them. I wish when a player is reported then something is done about them. I've reported countless players for rude language or behaviour and nothing happens to those players. Is staff really looking over these accounts? I just wish the community was as fun, nice, and enjoyable. Agree or disagree?

rhetorical question? :P

that's kind of a reality of online gaming in general, i'm not sure if "anyone" here is doing "anything" but i don't particularly care, used to it.
good luck though

Disagree, although, at your level, there are more cheats. If you think you're playing against one, report the member.

Overall, the large majority of those I've played against or corresponded with here are ok (well, truth be told, I'm not good enough to recognize if one is cheating against me here-but you seem to).

I regularly play another so-called "gentleman's game"-golf. Just because the game itself is characterized that way doesn't mean that every participant is.

Additionally, playing any game online lends itself to oddballs that want to feel superior.
