This community amazes me.

Hi there.

I play since a couple of weeks on this site. The players I play against do utterly amaze me. They are very strong. I used to have a rating of at least ELO 1800+, more like 1900, actually. And here I keep failing to touch on 1600. It could be my strength has decreased a lot in the past, since I didn't play for a long time. But then again, no! Maybe I lost 50 or 100 ELO points due to not playing in a long time. But NOT 400 pts. So you guys here play better than the rating tells, at least compared to ELO. And I don't think ppl are cheating.

Funny, most people who lose a few games of blitz complain that their opponents are cheating. I for one am certain that I am capable of dropping a pawn all by myself.

I agree.  This site has some stellar players.  I can win at least 1/2 against 1500 USCF and struggle here at times.  1500s in blitz on this site demolish me.
