Dear Players,

I have observed that the timer is changeable. . . But the problem is that I dont how to change it, its just that others knows how... Can that program of time cheating be stop?

Yep, time lag.  Not your or your opponent's fault or controllable by either of you.

Well, I suppose your lag would be worse if you were downloading stuff on your PC (but who would want to worsen their lag?).

I guess worsening your lag might have some value as a distraction if your opponent was very distracted by the clock behaving irregularly and strangely, as the site 'added back' time to the game to compensate for one or both opponent's lags.

Well, in that case, who even knows how to change the time will be as good as the champion... The real game of chess is gone... It looks like if you know how to manipulate the time, you will be the winner... Well that is my own point of view... Can anybody correct me if I am wrong... by the way thanks to Sftac from Canada and Echecs06 from USA for the reactions...

I do not see how manipulating the time by worsening your own lag, would give you any advantage.

I think on the whole, it would give you a modest disadvantage as your opponent would have more time (then is reflected on your clock) to think during your moves but I could be wrong.

I do see some value in purposefully worsening lag on those new players you're playing against, as they do not understand and so, they are distracted by the clocks' behaviour as it adjusts itself to compensate.

My advice:  pace yourself, ignore 'erratic' clock behaviour and don't take the clock too seriously as it's only an 'estimate' of reality.  Someone viewing your game would 'see' a more true perspective.

It would be interesting, to videotape each player's view of the game board, and, compare that with a spectator's view, where there is substantial time lag involved that the site is compensating for by adjusting the clocks.
