At first, I solved many chess puzzles over the board from chess books. I solved over 2000 chess puzzles over the board. You should solve from easy in the beginning till hard ones.
Download chess book with tactical puzzles.
Also, play everyday or regularly rapid chess games and then if you become stronger you can play blitz games!
Train, study, and play. Repeat.
the most important thing for a beginner is to play games. many many many many games. play slower games to give yourself time to think. don't look at your rating - play unrated if you have to. do 15 minutes of puzzles per day. try to get 100% correctly at all cost - even if you can only solve 1 in 15 minutes that's okay. only move the pieces after you have seen all the moves in your head. and after each slow game take your time and look at the game again. you will remember at which point you felt comfortable with your position and you will remember positions in which you felt you were in trouble - look at these key positions and try to find out what moves you could also have made - find better moves and try to identify your mistakes. do not use the engine for analysis. only after you are through with the game and think you grasped all the important things about your game you look at the key moments you looked at during your analysis with the engine.
these are the recommendations I read and saw all over the internet from various grandmasters and chess instructors. I try to learn chess this way as well. Improving at chess is usually not easy. If you can afford few lessons, I would advise getting a coach. I can teach you how to think during the chess game. After that, your progress is inevitable.
If you can't afford any lessons, here is the excerpt from very good article on how to improve:
Play a lot, analyze your games, and primarily study tactics. Your knowledge of openings, endgame, middlegame, etc. will come from analyzing your games and going over grandmaster games. Only study one of those specific topics if it is clear you are specifically losing because of that topic.
