Tournament nerves!

So I'm playing in the Chess.com 9th annual tournament, and I just completed my section, all ten games. But, I need help to advance. Is anyone that posts on the forums here, playing that tournament? How are you doing in the tournament thus far? I'm quite nevous about my chances. It's that fun kind of nervous, thoughSmile

Oh you're so naive... You can't just wait there doing nothing, that's not good sport. Now that you've completed your games, you must join forces with the players that are playing against your main rivals towards advancing.Wink

I actually hope the players I need help from can find it in their hearts to cheatLaughing

brfc

Now now, cheating isn't the answer...bribary is...ROFL!!! Jokes. Just hope and pray, and believe me, OTB tournaments where the game you're  watching has to end in a draw for you to win the tournament outright, that's nerve-wrecking!!!

Laughing Good to hear from you, brfc! Bribery, never passed through my mind because my purse is emptyFrown

Tryst,

I am sitting at 8/10 and will be advancing on tiebreaker. Im a bit nervous becuase have never advanced since the first Chess.com Tournament. I will be spending time looking at some schemes I might play as black as I like executing a plan more than reacting to Whites plan. The nervousness is good, like doubting your own readiness, which forces you to prepare more than the next guy who is confident of his chances in the next round and is just surfing the internet for avatar hats... Great idea, brfc. Investigating what skeletons are in the closet of my competition, for blackmail, may keep my mind off the nervousnessSmile

To help the nervousness pass, calculate what games are needed to win, and adjudicate what you think the results are, then if they go your way, remain nervous, if they don't then just forget about it and if you get through, you'll feel surprised
