Tournaments

This website is really starting to piss me off ! 1 I try to join a tournament and i dont have enough online games...2 as soon as thier is enough games i try again and i'm told that my timeouts are to hi...np i play some more games to lower my timeout % and bamm !!! I try again only to be told that my time limit per move has to be under 3 hrs...lol this is a joke, my ratying of 3 hrs 2 min is just another bs way to keep free members fron joining any tournaments...if you have to UPGRADE to be in a tourny then just say so.

         Looks like i'm heading back to yahoo...I'm sure as hell not paying any money until I can ck out the whole website...so hear this chess.com...I want to play in a tournament...how do you have to rate time limits on moves when you can go 3 days a turn...please educate me !

Free or diamond is not the trouble. The tournament is quick tournament, nothing more. I can't join too, it is normal. Just way for the next chess.com tournament (2 day or 3 day move ?) and I think it will be ok for you.

For official tournaments basic members must have at least five completed games and maximum 10% timeout in online, not live, games. These are the default settings in member-created tournaments as well but can be adjusted by the Tournament Director.

In addition to the time control of X number of days per move the Maximum Average time/move setting can be applied by the Tournament Director to filter out the slower players. This is shown in the tournament description. It does not apply after registration.

Some tournament directors will remove timeout restrictions and state this in the description or title of the tournament. As well you can just try to register in any tournament you see on the Upcoming Tournaments list if not explicitly stated.
