Unfair to free members

The site offers 1 free lesson to free members every week.

Earlier, I could see a lesson I have already seen again without using that free lesson.

But now it doesn't let me see the already viewed lesson also without using my free lesson/week.

1 lesson/week is already bad, why make it worse?

Toldsted

Even paying members have a very limited access to lessons.

Its the other way around. You have a free lesson and a free chess platform. It's not bad. It's good.

Isn't it free because we are playing and they are earning from ads?

This is a business model. They adjust their free stuff as they see fit.

Hmm, I just wanted to recheck a puzzle from one of my lessons and now I may never be able to do it (atleast till I get membership!)

It's free to you and do you think they are actually making that much from ads?

Do you look at the ads? Have you bought ANYTHING even once as a result of those ads?

There is no conspiracy against free members, only those who think there is a conspiracy. Back when I wasn't a paying member I had no problems improving my rating.

I am just saying that why can't we now view lessons we've already seen when we could do it earlier

That's a good idea, but imagine all the storage that would take.

I got gold in september 2019. Before that, my blitz went all the way up from 1100 to 1600. Respond to this, "what would chess.com gain from keeping non-paying members at low ratings?"

They also lower your score if you are a free member. I have been playing for quite a while on one account and I kept on getting more difficult opponents with lower scores. My score in 10 Min Live games went from 1500 to 1200. My opponents kept getting more difficult and had lower scores causing my score to go down to 1232. So I opened another free account and started playing with that one. My score went up quick and then the same thing started again. So after a few months I went back to my old account and in the first two games I beat a 1459 rated player and a 1512 rated player. My score wen up from 1232 to 1525 but only on the stats window on the chess board my score still says 1232. I don't care that much as I just want to play but it seems they want you to think you are bad so that you pay for lessons and then after a few lessons all of a sudden you get better but really they just stop messing with your score.

I had no trouble getting my online rating up to 2350 as a free member.

... or maybe without the conspiracy, I would have been 2650...

From 1500 to 2100 in a year? Wow.
