Unjustified charges for premium accounts.

I'm a free account user, but I've been a premium member several times so I know the difference, but as for now, I can't justify Chess.com prices for the premium accounts, not even the "less pricy". I think they charge a lot and do not provide good enough content, but how can I ever be interested on getting a premium account again with the current never working Game Review, the sometimes slugish server, either to log in or to play a game. I mean, with all the money they charge, they could get better and bigger servers. And don't even get me start about the April's new bots... Please tell your thoughts, respectfully, please.

PS: I noticed this got worse since I became a free account user again. Coincidence? Mhhh...

I never have any problems with Game Review. I am wondering what your problems with it are, specifically. I ran it this morning. It completed in about 5 seconds.

With all do respect, I'd rather have a comment from someone that doesn't work in the chess.com team. My connection is good, LICHESS goes great, and again, Game Review starts but it only stops there. I never get any progress in the green moving bar. And don't come up with the cookies stuff, that's already checked.

The game review was freezing up on me a few weeks ago, but has since resolved. I don't have any lag issues or dropped games either, but then i play primarily daily games. Maybe i just have a better net connection and no, i'm not employed by chess.cm. Btw, i also play on lichess as well and find very glitchy at times, certainly far more wins by abandonment. (Undesirable.)

Thanks for the feedback. Highly appreciated. And as to the matter, it seems that at times fails for some temporarily and then improves, while other get affected and therefore nobody knows the real issue. My conclussion is that chess.com is either having serious issues solving the huge amount of members or their are prioritizing premium accounts performance. But in any case, Lichess rarely have glitches and the abandonment issues are no that common(at least not in my experiences) There are always mean mannered people in every platform I guess. But having Game Review freezing is totally unaceptable in a website that charges you for a premium account. Again, thanks for sharing your experience.

Hmm. With all due respect, you haven't played any games in over a week.

It does look like the Game Review was run on two of the games you played a week ago and four of the last seven. It seems unlikely that Game Review "never" works for you.

There are occasional glitches that occasionally stall Game Review but my experience as a user is that it works properly 99 out of 100 times.

Game review stopped working for me months ago, and it is in the same state ever since. I myself never use it, but occasionally when I start "Analysis" it launches Game Review instead (very annoying), and then I see an error message every time.

If you're running a Game Review immediately after game completion, it might have issues if the game hasn't completely written to the archive yet. Generally, if you give it a little time or load it from the archive and run it will work. I have occasionally seen a review hang but a refresh fixes it

You're welcome, hope you find it improves for you soon. I play only on the ios platform (ipad) maybe that's the difference? I uninstalled and refreshed the app a few times to be sure i'm using the most current version as well. As for the other site, well i awoke to two abandonments and one abort this AM. It's disappointing to invest time only to have them disappear. That's one of the things that rarely happens to me on chess.com. To each his or her own i suppose. Wish you well.

With all due respect, the fact I haven't played on chess.com doesn't mean I didn't import games played in another platform. Your experience differs from mine, that's all. Keep that in mind.

Absolutely true. Specially from the App.

Oh, I did that already, my lad. Doesn't help.

Oh. I see. You did say that you don't have a premium subscription any more.

Game Review is a premium feature.

Please post another thread complaining about it not working when you actually have another premium subscription.

You should contact support then using the option in the Help menu

Though you should be able to use the Analysis tab without issue.

Again, with all due respect, smart one, free accounts do have 1 Game Review per day.

My only problem with it is that I think the two features of Game review and unlimited puzzles should be in the free level. I totally understand lessons, multi-games, bot access, faster replies from support...etc, being in the higher categories, but game review and puzzles are so basic those should be automatically included free ofcharge. 1 game review and 5 puzzles a day is a ridiculous baseline in my opinion. Should be at least 10 game reviews and 20 puzzles a day as a baseline. My other issue with this is that unused ones don't rollover. If you don't play for a week and then play 7 games you should be able to review all those games at once. Same with puzzles. Don't do them for 20 days? You should have 100 at your disposal.

Is the Review feature in the Kingdom chess app the same as Game Review on the website? I should check whether you can use the former with the latter, since they write to the same game database. Even at the basic level Kingdom chess gives you 3 reviews and at level 25 you get something like 11? Not sure what the refresh rate is since I don’t use it myself, but the app is free, so maybe that’s another way to get more reviews if you really want to improve

I don't know for certain but I would imagine they're leveraging the same back-end

Game Review uses a significant amount of resources, both by staff in the development and upgrades, and the server resources to run them as quickly as possible.

EndgameEnthusiast2357

Don't the free level don't get as powerful a program/evaluation engine to review the games anyway?

But puzzles are pre-programmed and repeated, so making that unlimited shouldn't tax resources.
