Had the same problem and also got an unfair play penalty. However I did manage to sort it out I switched from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome and the server seems much more reliable. I usully play online chess now instead of live chess in case the server aborts the game. Good luck.
Unreliable Server
Thanks for the reply but yeah I usually use Chrome anyway and it didn't work on any browser. I had about 15 games (3-days-per-move) going. I would have thought chess.com would realise if it was messing up in a particular region and then be able to freeze any games for people from thereabouts. Maybe they can implement it sometime. I know premier accounts can automatically go on holidays before losing which might be a good feature for everyone...
Hello!
Just so it's clear, I think this site is very cool and I know it's free (although I wish all of it was free) but something bothered me...
So basically for about a week I couldn't get access to chess.com (I'm in Sydney, Australia if that helps) and because of that I lost a whole bunch of games. It's not losing the games that's annoying but not being able to continue them just as they were getting interesting.
It's also frustrating in itself not having access for a week but at least if there was a feature to prevent you from losing all your games, that would be great! If I forget, that's one thing, but if the site messes up, it seems unfair.
