  Good morning everyone!

   It's just been announced in the Official Chess.com/TV Group by our very own David Pruess that coming next week begins the full 9-round coverage of the First Metropolitian International.

   All 9 rounds will be hosted by IM David Pruess as well as participants from the tournament itself. Below is the full schedule of days and rounds.

   Here's a little bit about the tournament and its format:

  • Time control is 40/90 with SD/30 and 30 second increment beginning at move 1.
  •  Super-GM Mickey Adams, GM Loek van Wely, GM Ilya Smirin, GM Timur Gareev, GM Dejan Bojkov, GM Mark Paragua, GM Mesgen Amanov, GM Robert Ruck, GM Dmitry Gurevich and GM Melikset Khachiyan are currently slated to play in a 9 round Swiss tournament at the luxurious Sheraton Downtown Los Angeles (711 South Hope Street, Los Angeles CA 90017) that will offer the opportunity at GM, IM, WGM, WIM norms.
  • The tournament will be officially open to players over the rating of 2200 FIDE, but exceptional juniors and local players U2200 FIDE may be allowed.
  • Currently has 68 players listed

   Just a reminder that the first round's broadcast of the First Metropolitan International, starting August 17th at 8:30 PM Pacific/11:30 PM Eastern, is open to ALL members of Chess.com. The rounds will all be hosted by IM David Pruess, who just recently in Biel scored his final GM norm!  Cool

   Seriously though, today's 2nd round coverage of the Metro International has been pushed back 90 minutes to start at 1:30 PM Pacific/4:30 PM Eastern/9:30 PM London Time. This order has come from the top by David Pruess.  Cool

   OK everyone! David just let us know in the TV chat room and in the TV/Group that Round 2 coverage has been cancelled because of lack of internet access on site.    The Live Round 6 coverage, which is open to everyone today, starts in less than 50 minutes. Be there. Hopefully audio/video will work too. And if you want, follow the games in LIVE Chess under the Events Tab.  Cool
