Verbally abusive behavior, in game

I hope you're doing well. I am writing to report a recent encounter I had with a player who used verbally abusive language during a game. I was wishing him a good game, but despite my friendly gesture, he responded with very inappropriate behavior. As a dedicated member of this community, I believe in maintaining both self-respect and the friendly nature that this game promotes. Unfortunately, the behavior I experienced was disrespectful and inappropriate, and it goes against the values that make Chess.com such a wonderful platform. Even your terms and conditions clearly reflect that such behavior is totally unacceptable. To support my claim, I have attached an image of the chat in question for your review. I kindly request that you review this account and, if necessary, ban it to prevent other players from facing similar issues. This kind of behavior only unnecessarily frustrates players and detracts from the enjoyment of the game. Chess is a beautiful game, and I believe taking this step will contribute to a better experience for everyone on the platform. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt action. Best regards,
Skelabra19

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you had this experience. If you come across behavior that violates Chess.com's TOS, using the report function is the best course of action.

This article explains how to do it: https://support.chess.com/en/articles/8562517-how-do-i-report-someone

Also, good job for following the rules and not naming them.

"Reporting" means that you use the report function.

Creating a forum topic does nothing. Staff members don't read the forums.

magipi has a point, Skelabra is a moderator so not staff, I have never encountered a member of staff (other than for announcement) in a forum. I may be mistaken but I don’t believe Chess.com staff have the time to scroll forums.

What ive noticed is this happens everyday. (i see it everyday on the chess.com subreddit) so it seems like people arent reading the rules

People actually chat? I just leave it off for precisely that reason.

Sorry you experienced this! Don’t let one person ruin your experience though!

Some staff do read some forums and will occasionally reply but they're generally doing other work so aren't as active in the general forums

i have a hard time getting anyone to chat during 24 hour games - which is one of the reasons i play that format which is to converse and discuss the game -- not lately and most times i get no response . i enjoy when people tell me what they think of my play or what i did right and what i did wrong, the interaction is what on line chess is for - if winning is your only goal -- then i feel sorry for you- life is to short to not interact --- even good and bad comments are sometimes welcomed -- just something to show you are not a bot or busy trying to get your other software up and running to make the next move - i wish they had a built in translator so i could talk to peoples of different countries better
