And...that's my perspective for my groups. You have your perspective for yours. Take it or leave it.

Besides Glorax, I'm not fighting any battle on any hill. I'm not in a race with anyone. But those who joined are personally welcomed in and are pointed to those House Rules on first contact. They can leave if they feel they're too stringent. If I was to join another's group and wanted to stay there, I would respect their rules too. It's not a hard thing for me to operate within set boundaries. Maybe it is for you.

You will be always fighting to keep a certain number of people, because you will be losing members that you invited and they will always be a risk of leaving.

Never said you were. Good luck though rising up in the ranks with that thinking.

VC ratings are definitely not a good idea. If there are different moves promoted by different people, and there's a 51%/49% split in the voting, then those who voted on the 49% would get their rating unfairly lowered. If you are in a small group, and socking members of the other team troll voted the same move, you'd have your rating lowered. All this does is encourage an SA to force people to vote a certain move after viewing discussion.

I see your point, however if you are in a group that has that many trolls in the small group, it is best if you leave

It does, that is the one of the points, to stop people from voting before any discusssion

And that insightful post, ladies and gentlemen, successfully necroed up a two-months old thread corpse.

I have to agree with you here

I figured everyone was done and all questions were answered and I was happy to let it die.

What if there's disagreement? That's why it's Vote Chess, and not Assisted-by-other-people chess. Maybe look at the percentage, time left, number of non-spammy comments, number of troll and sock voters etc. That should make it accurate, while also completely preventing voting without discussion (or even voting at all)

Losing some of your VC rating will not be the end of the world. While you may lose points here and there, you still will rise up and silent voters will fall since they vote whatever. All in all, it is all about if you listen to your group.
