We Need Chess.com Greeters!

No problem, I'm on 2 at the moment but I'll up it to ten till the new year at least, t'is a pleasure!

I've had the "Be a greeter" option checked for a couple of weeks and haven't been assigned a game yet.

OK. I went ahead and checked the "Be a greeter" option.
I can't guarantee that I will make my moves quickly, but I will try to be friendly and informative.

Same thing to me!

I've been a greeter for weeks and never received a game from a new member.
A.
Same here and I sent in a message to tech support to see if there was something wrong. Everything appeared to check out was what I was told.

Seems like there are two problems. One is that Erik needs more greeters. The other is that greeters cannot find games. I suspect a single solution is available for both problems. I think Tech Support needs to look a little deeper.

So on the one hand, we have a "need for greeters," but on the other hand we've got greeters with no games. Which begs the question, how does the whole greeter game work? I don't believe it was available way back when I joined, or maybe I just missed it. Can someone please explain the process? I'm guessing that the new member has to request the greeter game, and then does the system just look to see if a greeter is online? If there are multiple greeters online at the same time (which I imagine must happen more often than not), how does the system pick which greeter will answer that request? Is it completely random, or is there a formula?

I was a greeter for a long time with no games, then suddenly I've got games all the time. Right now I'm saturated, which means that as a greeter game quits I get a new one. Most games go about <3 moves, but every once in a while you get a player that it is fun to play against.

Aloha Erik,
We'll give a Go!
A few games will not be problem, as I am a greeter for Windward Chess & Go Club and Oahu Go Club as well OTB, as well as United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, maybe we can add a few new players in these areas as I often mention Chess.com to them and vice verse!

"Always Ready"
We need more people to become Chess.com Greeters! We know that sometimes it is frustrating to have people come to the site, make 1 move, and then never come back, but for those people who stick around the Greeters are an important part of their first experience on Chess.com!
To be a greeter all you need to do it go here and change your settings:

And then be willing to play an unrated game and answer questions about the site!
Thank you so much!!!
Erik
