What rating range is classified as intermediate???

<1500 - complete beginner

1500-2000 - beginner

2000 - 2500 - experienced beginner(amatuer)

I feel even if you're between 1000-1200 but have been playing for more than a year and willing to put a little more efforts and consistency you are already entering an intermediate level where you get to learn more intricacies of the game and learn a couple of openings thoroughly from each colour.

Ratings will fluctuate and what matters is if you understand how developing a plan or idea works along with decreasing the frequency of one move blunders or one move threats and see your rating improve, I've been playing since 3 years and I play unrated games more and on a good day I can beat 1500s in rapid but at the same time I lack depth in my ideas still so I'm working on them,good luck to everyone on their chess journey ♟️

100-300: New to chess
301-600: Beginner
601-900: Novice
901-1200: Intermediate
1201-1500: Competent
1501-1800: Experienced player
1801-2000: Advanced
2000-2200: Experts
2201-2500: Masters
2501-2650: Grandmasters
2651-2900: Supergrandmasters
2900-3400: Blitz guys like Hikaru
3500+: Engines like Stockfish
