When chess.com misunderstands you

Have you ever felt that chess.com is wrong for not letting you join a tournament because you have bad wifi?

Well, that is exactly what happened to me. I was having internet problems and I couldn't load the games. I thought, maybe chess.com knows what problem I am facing and will not refrain me from joining a tournament, right?

Wrong. It turns out that chess.com only checks if you are cheating or whatsoever. But not wifi problems. I had to refresh my page so many times!

And chess.com happily gave me a temporary ban from participating in chess tournaments.

Wow. Am very surprised. At first I did not know what I did wrong but when I clicked on the Sportsmanship Policy then I realised- Ohh i forgot about the aborting too many games. But it couldn't even load it kept saying "Unable to create a challenge as you are currently playing." I waited for 5 minutes and nothing. So I refreshed the page and got the ban. I was appalled.

Bro. I was disconnected not aborting too many games!!! Why??? The next time I play chess.com is probably gonna give me a warning saying "Please do not abort any more games or we might have to restrict your account."

I do NOT want my account to get banned but what can I do? To remove the tournament ban, I have to play a few more games without aborting, resigning, or making the opponent wait very long. But I don't know when this wifi problem will be fixed!

Chess.com if you are reading this, please please unban my account. You misunderstood me.

They do check your connection status before they let you join a game. They try not to let anyone with a bad connection join a live game.

Do you understand that when you disconnect from a game, there is another person waiting who has to wait around for you to reconnect?

It is not nice to make your opponents wait around. Even if it is not your fault.

Why don't you just go someplace where you can get a good wifi connection?

Or play a daily chess tournament?

It's not a live game. It is blitz 3 min.

That is a live game here. Any time control that isn't Daily is Live.
