Color selection is mostly random but in the long run it evens out. You have had 174 rapid games with 84 whites and 90 blacks, not counting games you may have aborted.

Likely chess.com doesn't leave anything up to chance, and tries to force a balance long before 1000s of games are played... which is why you're at 51.7% after fewer than 200 games.
I used to think that but I found it is random and if you play someone you had previously played, it gives you the opposite color (not just on rematches). Unless something has recently changed.
