Why can I only see the last 50 games on my chess.com archive?

Hi everyone! When I check on my chess.com archive, I can only see my most recent 50 games. Is there a way to solve this bug? Or is this natural? I played a total of 343 games on chess.com and I can only see the last 50 games.

Are you using the website?

I just checked. I can see 161 rapid games in your archive.

The default page shows just the Most Recent games. You have to change the filter to see more.

Thanks!

If you are using the website, try going to your archive to see all your games.

So do the servers store all games?
I found that Lichess only saves about 10,000 games per player.
Too bad when you're trying to look up those 2 games you had against a famous GM a year ago.

Yes, something has changed with the archive page. In the past, it was paginated. Going to the archives page formerly gave immediate access to all games. Now when I go there, it only shows "recent" games and I have to know to change the filter at the bottom of the page in order to show all.

So the games are still there, it's just a few extra clicks to access them. (Seems like a poor design choice from the user perspective, but maybe there is a backend reason?)

EDIT: apparently I remembered the archives page incorrectly. Martin Stahl says it hasn't changed recently, so disregard my above comment. (Except the part where it seems like poor design from a user's perspective. :-) )

You can download all your games via https://www.openingtree.com/

IMO the most comfortable way.

Nothing has changed. The default archive page is filtered to Most Recent Games which is the most recent 50 games. You either have to change the filter or click the Live or Daily tabs which will give the pagination.

All games are kept in the archive.

Most likely it's my faulty memory (which explains why I can't remember opening lines past three moves or so). :-)

You have a couple of options. Clicking Live or Daily at the top will filter to those game types. Or you can use the options in the sidebar:

Basic:
