Why can't I chat with opponents?

I have played more than 10 games.. and allowed to chat in my settings..

But still I cannot chat with opponents.

It cannot be a problem with verbal abuse since I never had a chat .

Plus your account needs to be 48 hours old to chat.

Thanks

why is chatting necessary?

Biman08

You need to activate your account

Chess should be a game with an inert purpose. Blabbing about whatever is a distraction.

Yeah. I don't consider it as necessary, since I don't use it very often.

But still it feels awkward saying chat disabled on the right corner which looks as if I've done sth wrong.

StillNight- one of my characteristics as a player was to be "completely in tune" to my game, omitting the world around me. I have had several games which I won w checkmate
or resignation in which my opponent was also out of time (for it is NOT the opponents job
to call his own clock, and usually Only in FIDE with MANY VERY Questionable rules as opposed to USCF, is time called.) Chatting, OTB or online impairs my concentration. Which
is exactly why some coaches encourage such horrendous behavior in their students, to
do whatever to "get in their opponents" head. As a TD wih over 2,400 tournaments directed, I have seen far too much of this behavior.

Some players are serious about the game, some are not. Seems you are in the not category.

Sorry about my bad English I am not a native speaker and hope you understand what I am trying to say. I was trying to ignore the additional comments because I solved the problem and still now you are writing a comment on this section, so I will try to make things up clear.

You are misunderstanding my question.

I barely chat while playing chess unless I am playing a friendly match with my friends.

The reason I asked this question was due to my little obsession issue i have.

If something seems to be wrong or problematic it bothers me a lot.

And as you can see in my profile, the time when I wrote this post was 2days after I joined chess.com. And the "chat disabled" really bothered me a lot since I was afraid if I did something wrong or account had a problem(in system of course) or whether should I set something in the settings tab. That's all.

Don't need to be so critical on me and stop being sarcastic on me about something which you've never been a victim of a chat by me(if you were victim of a chat distraction by someone else go to them and just report them, why me? once again, i barely chat to my opponents) or none of you all have played a game against me and just judging I am trying to distract people via using chat or I am having a bad manner or even telling me that I am not serious about the game just looking at a single post i wrote on the forum. Though I am a low rated player but when I play chess I always try to concentrate well and make a good game.(Most of time it is an awful game of blunders. But I've played like 300 games over a week since I joined chess.com which I belive it shows my enthusiasm on chess.)

And it turned out that I needed 48hours to be able to make a chat after making an account, so the problem is solved just a day after I wrote this post and it's the end of the story.

A point I am trying to make here is that I never attempted on distracting my opponents using chat or by other means and you cannot be judgmental or even being sarcastic just by looking at the post I wrote.
