Why do you like Chess.com?

I know this has been talked about before, but now I'm asking for a reason. We're working on some marketing materials and people love to read reviews & testimonials. So we need some testimonials about why you like Chess.com, why you play here, why (if) you became a premium member, etc. You can be general or specific about features, or whatever you like.

Yep, this is a blatant call for ego-stroking testimonials that we can shamelessly use to convince other people to register and become members. By posting here you are giving permission for us to quote you (though we will not use last names) and to fix grammar, punctuation, etc.

Thanks Laughing

I love Chess.com. It is the most comprehensive chess site I've found on the web, offering me a chance to meet new friends, read the latest chess news from around the world. With the tactics training and chess mentor features, I'm proud to be a subscriber and a better chess player.

If only there was some way to load it up on my blackberry....

Chess.com is different from other chess sites because it allows you to do so much more then just play this great game. It gives you the oppurtunity to delve even deeper into what chess really is while at the same time furthering your ability. It's a well run, professional site. It seems that every week there is a new feature. I enjoy my time here.

The website as a really good design compared to any other chess website, and the code as almost no bugs at all! Its free, and even if you decide to pay like I did is really cheap less then a regular playchess account... The tactics trainer made me do it it is just great, there are plenty of different communitys and people here are really open to everyone and almost every subject, I would avoid CC games but I love the online games in chess.com probably due to design and its so easy to work with, for hardkore bullet players there is the live chess, with the advantage that its free even if far from perfect yet. W also get access to an huge ammount of chess related articles and news and there are new articles everyday!

Just the Tactics trainer was well worth the subscription for me

Who said I like Chess.com?  Just kidding.  My favorite things in order:

1.  Tactics Trainer

2.  Chess Mentor

3.  Turn-based Chess

4.  The T-shirt I got with my account.

I like the tons of other features as well.  Articles, blogs, member interaction, databases, on and on....

There are some certain things that are relevant to chess.com and I am starting to adore them:

1.Topic tourneys.

2.Very well spread thematicly  spheres about submitting topics.

3.The new improvement about the team games

4.The good feature of messaging friends and other players by notes or messages.

I can count many others, but the importance of my comment is the following:

If I may,I would like to surggest to be built a better relationship between groups to submit their own tourneys or team matches.

I am not much in to it as knowldege, that's why I surggest it might be done by now,but it's good to be improved,if so.

Regards,

Nane

you should let the grammar mistakes be, erik. they show that although people do not speak perfect English, they want to have the perfect chess experience and found the perfect site to give it to them !

Chess.com is a one-stop center of chess improvement; everything I might need is right at my fingertips – tactics training, daily puzzles, articles, mentor – I like that I don’t have to run around to multiple different subpar websites trying to find what I need; I have the peace of mind that between the site admins working to collate everything they can and community contributions that I have access to a balanced diet of every facet of the chess experience.

On top of this, the administrators are working unceasingly to improve the site. Over the year I’ve been here it’s astonishing to see how many features and improvements that have been rolled out – often based on community driven suggestions. Your contributions can really have an effect on what Chess.com is, which makes it all the more exciting to be a part of.

The community is exemplary – and this is the final hook. Chess is an obsessive enough pursuit as it is, when couple this with a friendly, global community of fellow enthusiasts it’s absolutely absorptive. The active community (including master-level players) is always ready to offer valuable insights on your specific games when you submit them to the forums, and the camaraderie and banter is infectious and fantastic fun to be a part of in-between moves. It’s the ultimate virtual club with thousands of members – you’ll form genuine friendships without a doubt.

Ultimately, you control your experience at chess.com – its interface is flexible to whatever style of play you’re comfortable with. You can engage it no matter what your level of ability and it will be worth it.

/there were a few more things I wanted to generate paragraphs on - but I know that the point here is to offer pithy yet verbose, quotable soundbytes, in a sense. Feel free to excerpt to your hearts content.

Yeah, I'm with Kohai on this one too. It's not only an outdatedly sexist tagline, but vaguely... achem... homoerotic?

/men meets men
//then battle!

I have checked out approximately half a dozen on line chess sites and there is no other site that even approaches chess.com as my favorite.  In fact, chess.com is now the only site on which I play online chess.  The reasons are many.  The customer service is amazing.  Each and every time I have had a question or concern, it is acknowledged and addressed quickly.  The site is very user friendly for someone like me who is generally not comfortable around a computer.  I have seen on line computer chess sites that look like a road map: something here, a picture there, small print over there.  But at chess.com everything is clear and easy to find.  I became a premium member for many reasons.  I am a gold member and the fee is extremely reasonable for what I get in return.  a very important aspect to all this is that there are many players of all rating ranges.  This is crucial.  I am currently at 1180 and there are hundreds of players around that rating.  The vote chess is outstanding.  All in all, I consider myself very fortunate indeed to have found this site.

I was a member of 3 chess sites where I paid for memberships.  Chess.com gives me what I was getting from all of those plus more, a chess community.  It a great fun site.
