So how did you pay the 1 cent? . . .

Credit card? . . . check? . . . Bit coin? . . .

papermike

I’d assume it’s so it knows that the card you’re using actually has money on it and isn’t some dead visa giftcard

OG for sure, I have to mail them a check now for 1 cent

BishopBattler99

yep when we take a free trial less people come to know that you have to cancel the free trial before it ends otherwise they will charge

You didn't read the fine print saying they charge you $50 if you are caught cheating?

Dude, you gotta read those terms and conditions before you click on "I have read and agree to all the conditions".

RichColorado

When I joined in 2010 I paid with a American Express credit card . . .

The following month I blocked Chess.com from charging on the card. . .

I cancelled the card and I pay using a check Bill Pay . . .

I have never read the fine print . . .

I think its accepted automatically when you press enter . . .

With 1 million people ordering free membership at 1 cent a piece, that's 1,000,000 pennies or 10,000 dollars

Shocking!!!

I mean should we organize a money raise for you to help you get by during the next months until you recover financially?

(Sarcasm included and meant)

Thank you, I will greatly appreciate any help. The thievery is ruining me financially.

Swamp_Varmint

The true answer: inflation.

Bruvoskity

It's sad that free is even going up in price.
