Hello,

Is it just me or deos it seem too hard to find a good chess game outside of Chess.com?

You looking for over the board play?

You might try looking for a local club:

Or joining, or even starting a group that's dedicated to your region:

Exactly why I play correspondence chess here- I can make a move, go walk the dogs, look at others' games, go to work, learn stuff from the home page, check my opponent's move, make a pot of coffee, make my second move and even chat a bit, go make dinner... much better than being hunched over a chessboard.

Not only that, but at my school, all games are timed, so there really isn't a lot of time to strategize. Here, with correspondence chess, I can take three or four minutes, or an hour if I need it to strategize, and write out lines.

Arlington Virginia has one of the best chess clubs with several GM's and IM's ! Check out the refered link above.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but if you're spending an hour to 'strategise' and 'write out lines' with a 1267 rating, you'd be MUCH better off spending your time doing other things like learning openings, tactics, or especially endgames! I'm just saying...

Oh, and btw, this is assuming that you've decided to waste this time in your life on chess, which, based on my experiences, I wouldn't recommend! LOL...

All he's saying is that chess is a game for shrivelled up geezers with no lives.

It depends on who's wearing the skirt! LOL...

But--what do you think? Of course he should be playing soccer! ...

P. S.: Poor Liverpool, losing to Wigan Athletic...

The soccer comment was an unfair poke- sorry, actually I love the game but begrudge my total lack of skill. As for Liverpool... poor? I miss the Crouch robot dance. Was Wigan a league or cup game?

theoreticalboy

Liverpool are always poor.

Just thought I would add, there is plenty of room in life for birds and chess. Just best not let either one take over completely. :)
