i even tried logging into my alternative account and the account but the bug is still there

Yes, same here. Probably because either your own settings cannot be accessed (because you are not you, but someone else), or due to failure of getting any settings at all, it falls back to the default.

found the solution. go to settings > board and pieces then set them as you wish to and then scroll down and click save.

yeah same, my account got hacked(ik its real late now) but hacker is lowkey better than me so idk what I should do
