Hello fellow Chess.com fans! The Chess.com/TV Group has a special announcement for everybody here!

We started out as a non-competitive group, and we're staying that way. We're not competing with other Groups/Teams, we'll be competing against ourselves. Cool

It was suggested in our Group forums that we hold an internal tournament, an idea I have been playing around with since the Group's creation back in November. As you all know, the TV Group opened its doors last month with a huge 2-hour TV Broadcast on December 15th. It's the place for show recaps, special Premium content (PGNs, event coverage etc.) and a lot more.

We have decided to hold an internal tournament so if you haven't joined the group, now is the time--the prize is very much worth the effort. Do you want to know what it is? I will tell you...

What's great about this event is it's open to ALL Group Members with NO RATING MINIMUM!!!  Right now there are already 7 spots filled, and the maximum we can have is 100! The tournament options have not been set yet, but they are being worked on. Depending on how many players we get will depend on the moves per day option (we were going to go with 1 move/3 days) but with 100 people that will take a while, a long while, so things won't be set until we're certain how many will join the tournament. The progress will be updated in a special Group thread as we get closer to Tourney Time!!

OK, now about the prize. We're aware that Basic members can only join 1 tournament at a time, so those members will have to pick carefully what they can do if they want to be a part of this event. Drumroll please...

The winner of the Tournament will have a one hour blitz session with a Chess.com/TV Host of your choosing!! Yeah baby!!!

2nd place: Guest segment, via SKYPE, on Pardon our Blunders

3rd place: Send in a game for the next Your Games Analyzed

Like I said, you have to join the Chess.com/TV Group to be a part of this event. It's 2011 and our Group is kicking off the New Year in a big way. We have a lot of new features, events, PPV coverage and a lot more that is in the works, and we don't want anyone left out in the cold.  Cool

So, go to our Group Profile Page and join up, then go to the "OK...who wants a Chess.com/TV Group Internal Tourney for a prize?!?!" thread and sign up. Remember, the tournament is open to ALL members, despite Rating AND Membership level. Once the tournament is all set and we have the members set, the INVITES will be sent out and we'll get moving.

There will be a time limit to sign up as we don't want to wait 3 or 4 weeks for members to decide if they're going to be taking part in this event or not. Registration will most likely close on January 31st!!!

So join up now and try to win a one-hour LIVE Chess Blitz session with the Chess.com/TV Host of your choice!!!

   See you all there!!  Cool
