Chess.com is looking to hire a senior, highly-experienced web developer. Work from home on your favorite chess site! :D

The site is built on PHP/MySQL, but we use a framework similar to .NET or Java, so if you know those better, that's fine too.

If you are interested, email chessdev{@}gmail.com and I'll send you the next steps in the application process via email.

I really wish I could help in any way possible... But I don't know web development. Send me a message if I could help in any way! :)

Thanks!

Alex:)

There are 8 in total now. I'm not looking to take on anymore at the moment thanks :)

I seem too young I guess. I didn't do well at IT lessons either. Maybe some other time ;)

mprhchess

I meet all the qualifications-except knowing how to design chess.com.  All I have done is a little HTML and CSS.  I don't even know what some of those acronyms stand for!

nullbyte

i really like the question that you asked.. all completely right (except the typo in the JavaScript question :D) and very good. Thanks for the email.

I can see it now, a TopCoder (www.topcoder.com) competition sponsored by Chess.com :) would be cool!

Facebook has done this recently in order to hire developers in the past, others also included NVidia, IBM, Google etc.

kohai

no and no :)

I remember me granma knitting - might remember enough to make passable imitation of web , but don´t think I´d be good enough to make a jumper Smile

Chess.com uses Java Framework according to Wikipedia. I believe this was used to develop apps like Chess Mentor.

Can we submit design ideas and code to the website for review? I'm not qualified for the position, but I have a little web development experience and have come up with some ideas in the past.
