Hey everyone i'm new to this game but i knew how to play chess for a long time. Can someone help me with the best piece in endgame, knight or bishop? I'm so confused with these two pieces what are their pros and cons? weakness and strength at the endgame or in midgame. Can someone explain?

This is too big a topic for the forums. Find a copy of a classic Chess book called "My System" by Nimzowitsch.

Some people claim a bishop is better in the endgame because it's a long range piece, but there are plenty of exceptions, and the answer really depends on the position.

Suppose you only consider positions with no pawns. If you have a king and knight against a lone king, and have the choice of another knight or a bishop, the choice is obvious. If you have a king and knight against a king and queen, you would prefer another knight, because knight and bishop almost always lose to a queen, but two knights generally draw against a queen. If you have a king and bishop against a king and knight, you would prefer another bishop, because two bishops generally win against a knight, but knight and bishop against a knight is generally a draw. The list goes on.

Of course, if you haven't learned how to win the won positions and draw the drawn positions in these cases, the choice between knight and bishop probably doesn't matter.

They say the good bishop is best then knights and then the bad bishop(whatever bishop shares the same color square as your pawn chain) least value, but only slightly in every case. Like 3.01, 3.0(2 knights) and 2.99 for the (bad) bishop is the values the stockfish uses or something close to that.

Now what is the coolest piece to checkmate your opponent with? Barring the pawn the knight has the highest style points multiplier value!
