Yeah, the coolest thing about it was I saw that end position about 20 moves earlier (Not that I saw all the moves to get there.  But, the position I needed and how I needed to implement my plan. I had already won the piece at that point).  I knew I could force the mate by allowing them to take all my pawns take the opposition and prevent the knight from getting in and preventing my mate.

I didn't calculate all variations.  Just made sure I got the opposition once they captured my h pawn, prevented the knight from checking with the bishop(at the time it was sort of offsides) and at the same time moved it in to cut off the king all the while maneuvering the knight towards one of the key squares(g5 and f6)

It goes to show how much having an end product/concrete plan in mind really helps.

Of all my wins I think that is the one I was most proud of.

erikido.  Whoa!  That's some crazy preplanning. Well, the mate is a beauty...I've never had one so clever.  Maybe you should make a thread for "Best Mating Patterns" or something?  I bet that would be fun to see everyone's hottest mates.

Yeah, most of the time my planning consists of pry open the h-file sac, sac mate...wait they didn't play the dragon they played a petroffs defense.

And I will start a thread like that(although I think I will use different verbage as this is a family site;D)
