Hi,

In this position i heard that in 16 moves white has to finish the game else the game is draw. Is that true? I like to know more detail about it....

marvellosity

Not true.

Arv123

its 50 moves

razorblade12

completely not true.

however, if neither player captures a piece or does not make a pawn move for 50 moves, the game is a draw if one of the players claims the draw

also if a position is repeated 3 times in a match, the match is also a draw, if one of the players claims the draw.

in this position, white should win easily

Politicalmusic

Ha ha.  One of the chess stereotypes.  I've heard that "You have to mate me in 12 moves or it's a draw" before at the park.  lol

bigmac30

white will win comfy any way once he snaffles the pawn in 5 or six moves he has enouth matirial to win

Why bother with the pawn, it's just wasting time. Kd4, and the mate is probably fewer than 16 moves anyway, (not that it matters)

The only thing I can think of regarding the original quetion, is that this position is maybe already advanced in during the 50 move rule...

harshiii

matalino is right..

when there is a solution within 10 or 12 mioves, why bothering 16 moves?

Dinosaur53

Absolutely not... unless this your 34th move and the director was giving you a caution or a heads up to the fifty move rule?!
