ENDGAMES (Vent Post)

Any time I lose an endgame that I should have drawn, or draw an endgame that I should have won, I go open the relevant endgame manual, play through the position in the book a few times, and then grind it out with a computer until I can beat them three times in a row cleanly.

It's ridiculous. I'm looking at the first endgame in the Bishops vs. Knights section of Dvoretsky's Manual, it's a KBP vs. KN, and trying to get the KN in zugzwang makes my brain hurt. Like, why. What twisted person made chess this way. Why isn't it that when I enter a theoretically won endgame, I just already win. And why is the method for winning so unintuitive to me. Why.

That is all.
