I'm a rapid 1400 who usually loses end games, even if I'm up +1/+2 going into it. I'm hoping some more experienced players can help me improve.
My own analysis of the game
-I didn't expect the Queen trade, because I didn't see that it vastly improved my opponent's pawn structure.
-I didn't know what to do with my rooks. I couldn't figure out how to get my C-pawn to C2 without my B pawn, and had no idea how to protect everything.
- 25 Rff1 was a mistake, I should have been aggressive and instead decided to get defensive and missed an opportunity to fork.
- 38 Kf2 apparently killed any chance I had of winning, but I don't know why.
- I let my opponent's king get into my space, which might be another example of being defensive instead of aggressive. Not sure. I do this kind of thing a lot!
If any more experienced players have some specific advice that might help me improve, would be glad of the advice. I usually resign as soon as I'm 3 points down, but am going to start trying to play more games through to the end so I can get more experience in this part of the game.
