King moves instead of pawn in king/pawn endgame

At the end of this puzzle (https://www.chess.com/puzzles/problem/1135460) why does white play Kc5? Couldn't the pawn just play c5 to be one step closer to promotion?

also, side note: why is my puzzle rating 1551 while my rapid is 805/bullet is 718? That seems like a much too big jump. And I beat antonio-bot (1500) half the time despite my rating.

No, Kc5 is the only winning move. You clearly know nothing about pawn endings. Can't explain it all here but surely chess.com has a place where you can study them. Good luck!

With the White P on c4, White wins if his K can reach b6, c6, or d6. If the K can't get to one of those squares, Black can draw. That's why White plays 1. Kc5: Black can't stop him from reaching b6. Instead, 1. c5 allows Black to block the White K from reaching the critical squares and Black can therefore draw. Hope this helps.
