How much if the queen is riding the horse?

kco

King = 0 ? I thought they have a value, surely they must have especially when they are needed in the endgames.

If you lose the king, you lose the game.

It would just make normal knight moves, since the queen isn't moving.  Actually, it would just make the knight heavier and lose its jumping ability.

The value of the king has to be more than 103, if you want to asssign the other values as in post #1:

1 Queen 9

8 pawns promoted to queen 72

2 Rooks 10

4 minor pieces 12

Clearly, if you have all this material but you King cant be saved, you lose.

Yeah I know that, so the King must be very valuable to be capture and kill !

And for Goldendog, a queen doesn't ride a horse, so not to destroy her makeup, so its worth O.

You shouldn't be (you have 385 points).  Consider those less fortunate than yourself...

Good point.

Apparently she had a thing for horses, as Tony was so kind to remind us all of.

The king can't be traded and if you lose it you lose the game, it's not so clever to realize that -- in spite of that, it obviously has a fighting value.  I keep forgetting the different numbers people try to give it, I think it's 3.5?

tazerdadog

The king is equivalent in power to 4 pawns.  But not in importance.

For a thread entitled "points", this discussion sure is pointless.

onetwentysix

King actually = infinity because if you lose it you lose

if the queen is riding a knight it would be called an archbishop

and the queen will be more equipped if it had a ak47
