King and queen vs. King and knight is a very easy win and should not be difficult unless you are in severe time pressure.

I just tried king Q vs King N in chessmaster from a random position.
chessmaster mated in 13 move.
I looked at the moves and it appears that it uses some kind of mating pattern that I might be able to learn.
each time the king and N is in a certain position, white moves his king to be able to help mating.

The concept is the same for Queen vs King alone or with Bishop. The idea is to form an imaginary box with the pieces and go decreasing its size to bring the King to one side.
Avoid losing the Queen for the horse through a fork!
Good look!

Assuming the side with the Q is not about to lose the queen immediately, the side with the knight loses.

Any tips and tricks to master queen vs knight endgame? I am a beginner.

Yes, Demon182, bear in mind that a knight can only attack pieces on its own colour, use this to avoid getting forked with ease. Good luck :)

A knight attacks pieces opposite its color, not the same!

I think he meant that it can only move to attack pieces on the colour square that it was on.

One idea for learning how to win with Q vs N is to play over and over against the computer, first watching how the computer beats you with the Q many times, and then try to beat it with the Q, analyzing afterwards how you could have done it better, with the computer's assistance.

Only one tip from me: WATCH THE FORK!

Thanks people! Just by listening to your tip (if knigh is in a white square, beware of the fork in white squares, if knight is in a black square, beware of the fork in black squares), managed to do it for the first time!

lol even if its the same then also its a draw

I mean really easy Especially a person like me who knows how knight forks other pieces very much finds it quite simple cause I value knight more than a bishop.

Yes, a knight can only attack or move to squares of opposite color. It greatly loses square control near the edge of the board.

But the knight can block attacks and make other checks...

Queen vs Knight endgame is a perfect Win for the Queen side , unless you blunder queen 👑 to the knight fork. You can learn the technique from Silmans end game course or Averbakh or any other end game books
