Should I learn the checkmate with two bishops?

Post 21, whilst I can recognise the knight and bishop setup in diagram two, both example positions or patterns neglect the king influence and are unlikely to be reached without this.

That's a decent instructional diagram. All the basics are there and the notes explain what's going on.

Don't bother learning it. The position with two bishops and king vs. king very rarely arises in a game. Though you could have a look at it to understand how powerful a light and dark bishop can be when controlling double diagonals. Otherwise there's no point in memorising how to do it.

Apart from the fact every player should be able to win a won endgame, IMHO.

I realize OP hasn't logged in in 3 years but,
Memorize it? Almost useless.
You should understand the mechanism though. How the bishops and king work together to cover space. That's useful.
