I've used Chesstempo desktop version and enjoyed it. I wonder when they are going to develop an app?
Thank you!
I think that people have come to the conclusion that there is only one true player to answer all and every questions. All bow to Lee.

If that's a question, let me answer it like this: Yes.
iChess for Android has some serious issues. It does have a good diagram and reasonable problems.
As soon as you make the move that solves, the position instantly disappears and a new problem displayed. You don't have 1 - 2 seconds to review and understand. Opening the Menu reveals a choice "Solve and Load Next". Unclicking ( deselecting ) this is worse. Now the position just sits there and I could find nothing to make it advance to a new problem. Exiting that level and going back doesn't help : you're in a loop with the same position.
There is an item on the menu strangely called "Bird view". Apparently this is a numbered list of the positions at the chosen level. Entering this and clicking on another number does change the problem, but this is a awkward way to advance.
Scoring also leaves something to be desired. Apparently you accumulate 10 points per problem solved. But for every incorrect move 10 is subtracted ; so with several wrong moves your score becomes negative. At the 'Advanced' (medium) level many problems are difficult requiring several steps. So my progress was measured by how deep a negative score I'd get.
I installed iChess Free. But I suspect the paid version is free of ads, but probably not free of these issues. A shame as with a little tweaking this could be a great app.
Does anyone know any better tactical Android apps ?
I downloaded IdeaTactics Free. You are able to select your level and have multiple attempts. The puzzles range from one move to six, but mostly have two or three. At first, I ran into the same issue of moving to the next puzzle when you solve it. You are able to change this in the options. The most annoying thing is that it asks me for my google+ account everytime I open the application. I keep on canceling its request. I assume that it will keep your stats if I register.
@1ernie - On my version I just swipe the screen when I've completed a problem and the next one loads.
MCBeaker you're right. Thanks so much. Too bad that many of these little apps come without docs. I touched & tapped everywhere but didn't swipe.
I also want to correct my comment about scoring : subtracts 5 for a wrong move.
Does anybody have any suggestions for a tactic puzzle apps for a smartphone? I am looking for one that doesn't time out (sorry chess.com)
